AI Solutions Showcase

  • May 06, 2021
  • 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
  • Virtual

Overview

Use of artificial intelligence (AI) across the government has the potential to increase the rate of data intake and analysis, usher insights to decision-makers, support research, identify and predict areas of need, and much more. From deploying the technologies to plan for disaster relief, aid the COVID-19 vaccine roll outs, identify financial fraud and abuse, to parse regulatory code for updates and correct mistakes, AI solutions have improved government functions. During the showcase, members of the Data Coalition demonstrated how the proper use of AI addressed a scope of needs help the federal government better serve the public, and discuss opportunities where ethical, explainable AI could make government performance more efficient and effective.

Agenda

Showcase Lineup

  • AI and Federal Data Strategy: During this presentation we will examine the role AI plays in Federal data strategies, by looking at both its potential to unlock the value of data, and at the need to treat algorithms as real assets to be cataloged, governed, and secured. (Collibra)
  • AI for Government Contract Analytics: eBrevia’s AI has been used in the context of a variety of different projects for the government, including contract review in the context of government leases, banking documentation and MSAs. This presentation will focus on the many ways in which AI can assist those tasked with contract review in more efficiently and accurately conducting such review. (eBrevia, a DFIN Company)
  • Augmenting the Human Biology Corpus with Data: Unstructured healthcare data contains a wealth of information that until recent years has gone unrecognized. IBM supports healthcare organizations by leveraging the power of natural language processing to detect heath outcomes from electronic health records, not captured in structured data. By providing data, tools and infrastructure for use in the surveillance of vaccines, tissues, blood products and other biologics, healthcare workers have greater access to epidemiological studies and queries related to regulated biologics and are empowered with the information they need to save human lives. (IBM
  • Data Ops for AI: AI is everywhere. And for good reason. AI will change the way users engage with IT services, and improve employee relations and constituent services. Analytics is no different. It is part of the products and services that support AI. AI provides users with additional data they may be interested in, but didn’t express based on what the user has shown interest in before. This natural language communication between people and systems creates narratives about the trends we see in data making the data more useful and impactful. This presentation will show how data ops fuels AI and how AI, in turn, empowers analytics. It will also review the myriad use cases within government agencies. (Qlik
  • Ethical AI: Fair Lending Considerations: Presentation will cover special considerations for model risk management and fair lending compliance, including high-dimensionality, alternative data, and explainability. (Summit LLC
